Summer Sampler 2021 ~ Crossroads

Today marks the first week of the Summer Sampler 2021 : Vintage Restyle quilt along! We are so happy to have such a big group joining us this year. Over 1000 of you have signed up, from at least 48 states and 21 countries (last we checked!) Our design team has put together some amazing blocks for everyone to make this summer.

Our first block is Crossroads, by Allison Harris. Our theme this year, Vintage Restyle, takes a classic block and reimagines it. Allison designed Crossroads using the Irish Chain as her foundation and inspiration.

This is the 9th (!!!) quilt along that my partners Katie, Lee and I have hosted. Every year we learn more and more about how to be successful. Katie has put some of the ideas into writing, and hopefully they will help you stay organized!

I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about the fabrics I’m using for this year’s quilt along. I have a bundle of Essex linens I had been stashing for something special. I added some woven fabrics purchased from Fabric Bubb, and fell in love with the combination. I was a bit worried about the level of difficulty on piecing with such…”stretchy” fabric, but it wasn’t a problem!
