Summertide Star

Our final Summer Sampler 2019 quilt block is here! I am the designer for this week’s quilt block, Summertide Star. And we are wrapping up the block portion of the quilt along with one of the most feared piecing technique…Y-Seams.

Even before week one, we had quilters posting in our private Facebook group that they were afraid of sewing Y-Seams. I promise you all, you can do this! And once you have sewn one, you will wonder why you were fearful.

I have two Y-Seam tutorials for you to reference. First, I have a photo tutorial which has been on this blog for several years. Second, I made a YouTube video of the Y-Seam portion of this week’s quilt block.

I am confident that between those two resources and the graphics in the quilt pattern, you will sew this block no problem!

We are looking forward to releasing the two finishing patterns next week! This has been a great summer!
