Happy New Year!

Wow, it’s been a little while, hasn’t it? I guess I took an unplanned-but-much-needed break from quilting and blogging in December. The holidays really kept me busy and also I was feeling a little burnt out. And after reviewing everything I made last year, I guess I can see why! You can see all my finished quilts and links here.
But I’m back, hard at work, and will be excited to share a very special quilt with you later this week. I’m off to the fabric store soon to pick up some backing fabric.

I am also starting a new quilting bee this month – the Twice Around the Block Virtual Quilting Bee. It’s a very talented group of ladies, some from my old bee that ended last fall and some new. You can keep tabs on the fun over here on Flickr.
I hope you all had a happy holiday season and here’s to a wonderful 2011!

Faith, Love your creativity and your blog. I especially like the second quilt in the picture above. (the one with the simple blocks and the white sashing.) Do you have a pattern or know of where I can find one like it? Thanks and happy new year!
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer! Thank you! That quilt was made for someone who saw Ashley’s quilt from Film in the Fridge and they wanted me to make them one like it. Here is Ashley’s original quilt – http://www.filminthefridge.com/2010/07/20/far-far-away-2-quilt-with-the-registered-holsteins/
It was fairly simple to make. You just cut the fabric squares on the bias and then sash the diagonals with the white fabric. The only tricky part is sewing everything as a diagonal rather than a row.
Faith, thanks so much for your reply. I will check out Ashley’s quilt. All of yours are beautiful and inspiring. Happy New Year!

Very cool logo for your new bee!
Beautiful work all in one place! That quilt you made for your mom just makes me swoon. Happy new year to you!
