A Stitch in Color ~ A Moona Fabrics Sponsored Giveaway

Many of you know that fabric designer and author Malka Dubrawsky created her first fabric collection, A Stitch in Color for Moda Fabrics. Last month I created a quilt using fabric from a tiny sample fabric pack. I’m a huge Malka fan and have been eagerly anticipating yardage to start shipping.

Well, I’m excited to write that the moment has come and her fabric line is now appearing in stores! Moona Fabrics has ordered the collection and they are generously here today to give away a pre-release fat quarter set of all the fabrics you see in the above photo!

All you need to do to enter is leave a comment. I’d love to hear what you’d plan to do with the fat quarter set. I will pick a winner Thursday evening, January 19th. Good lucky everyone!

Our winner is comment #426!

Michelle G said “I would love that bundle of fabric. I confess I would probably horde it for the first year. That means I would hang on to it and bring it out (often) and pet it and contemplate the best way of using it. Then I would suddenly decide to stash bust and create a quilt with it.”

Congratulations Michelle! I will be emailing you for your address. Thank you to everyone for your comments!

For two years, now, I have been collecting perfectly inspired fabrics for a Halloween quilt. I am committed to Gray neutrals with subtle pops of color. Typical spooky fabrics are way too cartoonish for my vision. Some of the unusual Alexander Henry prints are my foundation fabrics – the anchor. These Malka prints are a perfect complement to the stash I have waiting to complete. If I should be gifted with this assortment you will see the fabric come to life in a very modern interpretation of Haloween.

MY guild will be doing a new philanthropy project this year where we will be making mini art quilts to donate for Alzheimer’s research through the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative. These mini art quilts will be auctioned of through the AAQI’s website and the profits go towards awareness and research. I would love to incorperate these awesome fabrics into many mini quilts to help out the cause. Just like many people, Alzheimers has touched my life in a significant way and would love to use the fabric to bring joy to others. Thanks! Anna

I love doing patchwork and quilts, but if this fabric enters my home my daughter will most surely harass me until I agree on doing a skirt and perhaps a top for her – so I might as well plan on doing that and cross my fingers for left-overs for some patchwork :)
