Multitasking

Is “multitasking” a nice way of saying “not getting anything finished?” Well, I don’t have a completed quilt to show you just yet…but I swear I haven’t been sitting around watching tv all day long. I have a lot of projects “in the works”. The above photo is from a quilt top I just finished, using my Off-Centered Squares quilt pattern. The colored fabrics are Moda Cross Weaves, the tan is an Essex Linen and the white is Kona White. Let me just say, making a quilt out of mostly cross weaves is challenging. Lots of stretching and fraying.

I’ve also finally cut into my Little Apples fabric by Moda designer Aneela Hoey. I fussy cut out her cute designs and have been making various size squares.

In an act of bravery (or lunacy), I cut into some of my remaining Anna Maria Horner Good Folks fabric stash…looks like I will be making a quilt from half square triangles! I wish this line would have a reprint…sigh…

Drawstring bag for the little miss

I made a little drawstring bag for my daughter to carry around her princesses. This uses Jeni’s awesome tutorial. The bag fabric is from Heather Ross’ Far, Far Away 2 and 3 lines. On the right is a bag I toooooootally copied after seeing this fabulous bag by Darci on Flickr. The pattern is by the talented Anna of Noodlehead, her Runaround bag. The fabric is from Moda’s Hometown line.

New Lizzy House

And…I have a bit of new incoming fabric, including these pearl bracelets from Lizzy House’s Outfoxed line and these turquoise and red prints from Meet the Gang, by designer Marisa Haedike of Creative Thursday.

So that’s what’s keeping me busy! What are you working on this week?

LOL! I am a GREAT multi-tasker. :) I like your off centered squares quilt. The color/fabric choices are very pleasing. And I am liking what you are doing with the little apples. Hmmm….I must be liking squares and rectangles right now!

I like “multitasking” better than having quilt ADD, which seems to be my problem! ;D

Awesome princess bag, and I really love what you’re doing with Little Apples.

ooh! I love everything! Those pearl bracelets have eluded me! I have loved them for a long time, but I haven’t bought any. Yet!

I’m working on a bunch of stuff. Pillows for my MIL, a very old UFO quilt, a new bag for myself, collecting scraps for a mini…

Well, I have to say that I’m really taken with the fabric from Creative Thursday ~ so much so that I went over and bought myself a fat quarter bundle!
I also really like your Off Centered Quilt ~ it’s really wonderful done in solids. And of course everything else you’ve done too. Your blog really inspires me.

Ah, yes; I’m experiencing that stretching and fraying with the fabrics I’m working with – I believe they are flannels.

Everything looks so good I don’t know where to linger! I love your offset square quilt; the colours in the HSTs are so exciting and the Little Apples squares are so cute!

I know the stretching and fraying is frustrating but it will be wonderful to quilt and so cozy ; ). I think multi tasking is fun, I like to have several things going too! And I may have to make the runaround bag and be a copy cat as well…….

I’m with you! I think I have twenty-some things in the works at the moment. So much going on, that I don’t even know where to start blogging. :)

But all your WIP are fantastic. Can’t wait to see them all in their finished states!

You are incredibly busy! I usually work on several projects at once also, which sometimes makes it feel like nothing ever gets done. However, I am almost finished with a quilt top for my grandma. She is turning 82 in December. I am making a string pieced quilt top using blue and green batiks. My cousin Robin is also making a quilt top and we will put them back to back and make a reversible quilt. Right now, neither of us has any idea what the other person is making, the colors and quilt pattern will be revealed on our long arm quilting day, November 12th.
Thanks for sharing all of your current projects!

Back again. I have a stack of the crossweaves and they look so amazing in your quilt. Have you come across any pointers for working with them more easily, like spray starch or pinking the edges? They look just wonderful in that quilt top!

I love my collection of Good Folks too! I think her earlier lines are my most favorites, although unfortunately I missed the whole “Bohemian” boat and don’t have any of that line.

Little Apples is going to be amazing. I love your additional fabric choices. And I love that Aneela added the green to this line.

and you blog header is wonderful. It really conveys what you are all about.

I’m a multi-tasker like you, Faith! I like that title much better. :) Everything looks beautiful! And I agree, Good Folks would be a wonderful reprint. I love that line.

Wow. I love all that you have going on. Thanks for sharing your progress. It really is inspiring to those of us who are “multi-tasking” too.

I love all of this! LOVE IT! And that Outfoxed is so stinking cute. I have a feeling it won’t be long before I’m buying a fat quarter stack of the whole line. Haven’t done it yet, but it’s hard to resist…

You ARE busy! And you didn’t even mention your scarf! :-) I LOVE those bags. At first I thought the FFA bag for Avery was the playmat bag from the Christmas blog hop.

And all this time I thought I was just disorganized…….lets see. A new england patriots king sized quilt for a customer, christmas hostess aprons (someone tell me these are not passe), coasters, and a t shirt quilt for my kid

    who isn’t multitasking these days!

I’ve been working on more than a dozen things at once, try to get them all done. Some things have to be worked on bits at a time, depending on the type of project, but also what my kids are willing to let me delve into. 5 minute intervals do wonders for getting things done.

The dozen projects is quickly dwindling to 4! But your right, it doesn’t look like anything much is getting done. hehe

I love the fabrics you are using along with Little Apples. It’s an adorable line, but it’s one that EVERYONE will make a quilt with and then they all begin to look the same and it starts looking flat. Yours is going to be unique and gorgeous!

Hi…I’m new to your site and I love it. Like you, I’m a huge fan of the Good Folks line and would love to see more available. Your half-square triangle quilt will be fabulous. It looks yummy just as pictured! Can’t wait to see it.
