Adventures in Paper Piecing – Take Two
A few months ago I decided to try my hand at some paper piecing. It went…ok. Fast forward several months and I found myself unable to stop thinking about the blocks that were being created in the Ringo Pie Bee. What a talented group of sewers. So I decided to try again, this time with my own design.
I drew up a set of spools to match my blog header. I’m not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed of the results. It’s certainly not perfect. In fact, I think I could have done a better job if I just made it without a template instead of following the design I made on paper. I also should have shortened my stitch length because when I was removing the paper, I really think it pulled a lot on the seams. Sigh…. I may remake the whole thing. I don’t know. If I do keep it, I plan to do random straight line quilting and hang it on my wall.
Have you made any blocks like this? I’d love to see your links!
Thank you everyone for your kind words. I’m feeling better about it now. I think I will keep it and finish it up for my wall.
