MoMo Wonderland Redux

MoMo Redux Front

Finally, the quilt I’ve been working on here and there for 2 months is finished! Several projects came and went while my second MoMo Wonderland quilt sat waiting patiently for me to find time to work on it. Last night, while the snow was falling and we were watching Charlie Brown, I finally found the time to hand stitch the binding.

I just love this fabric and sadly, this is the last of my stash. I used a layer cake for the front. I cut each piece in half, sewed 2 together and then cut them to squares. The back is my favorite MoMo Wonderland print – the butterflies. I just happened to stumble across them at one of my local quilt shops. So lucky!

I quilted this one with straight lines. It was my first time using the walking foot on my new Bernina. W-O-W. It is SO much better than my old Walmart Brother walking foot! I see a lot more straight line quilting in my future. In one direction, the lines are quilted 1/4″ on each side of the seams. (So 2 lines in that direction) In the other direction I quilted down the seams. (So 1 line in that direction). The final quilt measures 38″ x 54″.

MoMo Wonderland Quilt

I finished my MoMo Wonderland quilt!  Actually, I finished it 2 days ago, but it’s been raining here and I wasn’t able to get a good picture.  Tonight when my husband got home we raced outside (between rain showers) to get some photos before dark.

As I mentioned before, this was inspired by Ashley from Film in the Fridge.  She makes the most beautiful quilts.  The front was made with 2 charm packs and the back and binding are a dark brown Bella Solid.  The final quilt size is 34″ x 42″.  This is a gift for someone special but I don’t want to say just who because I’m not sure if this person reads this blog.  😛

As I wait for my other fabric to arrive…

When I was making my first quilt and surfing blogs online, I found this quilt on Ashley from Film in the Fridge’s blog.  I fell in love with it and knew I needed to make one too.  I hope she doesn’t mind that I copied!  I ordered a couple MoMo Wonderland charm packs and have been sitting on them.  The fabric is so soft!

Well, I’m waiting for more fabric for my string quilt to arrive and more fabric for my cherry coin quilt to arrive….and I probably SHOULD have made a few more colored blocks…  But hey, what’s another project in the works, right?
