Summerlove Stripe

Summerlove Stripe

Boy has it been windy the last 2 days! I finally decided to brave it all and get some pictures of my latest quilt, using the upcoming Art Gallery fabric line, Summerlove. I believe this fabric is set to arrive in stores any day now!

I decided to cut lots and lots of strips from the fabric and make some Roman Stripe blocks to play around with. I almost placed these another direction to make diamonds, but changed my mind at the last moment. These blocks are easy to make. They are basically two half square triangles sewn together, but one of the HSTs is cut out of a bunch of fabric strips sewn together.

For the back, I used giant blocks of fabric from the same line. It's so silky and smooth, love the feel of Art Gallery fabrics. I think their tagline is "Feel the Difference" and it really is true. The binding is a wine colored Oval Element print. I quilted straight lines 1/4" on each side of the horizontal, vertical and diagonal seams. The final quilt measures about 40" x 40".

Summerlove Stripe Back

I'll be back at the sewing machine this week finishing up more UFOs. It feels good to wrap things up and share!
