Sugarplum Medallion Progress

This was a big week here in the Jones household - the puppy was trusted to roam in the sewing room for the very first time. And no accidents! He only wanted to hang out up there for about an hour, but that was enough time to do a bit of assembly for the center section of my Sugarplum Medallion quilt. A few y-seams later and I am ready to plan the addition of the blue blocks.

I've had some people ask about a pattern for this one. I don't have any plans to make one - I'm really just winging it with my mockup. I'll admit, it's not as easy as I thought! But I think it will come together in the end...with a bit of seam ripping probably worked in there. :) You can still find links to all the block patterns here.

I've also made a few more english paper pieced...blocks? units? flowers? stars? What are these things called?

I tried to get a nice picture outside in the natural light, but they all blew away. So kitchen table it is! I'm having fun fussy cutting a bit, stitching slowly. Very slowly. But hey, it's the journey, right?
