A Red and White December

A Red and White Christmas at Fresh Lemons Quilts

We are now officially in the Christmas season!  Our house is fully decorated and the kids were lucky enough to visit with Santa over the weekend.  Never mind that it was 60 degrees…in Chicago!  Cold weather returned today and it’s feeling a lot more holiday like (no snow though).  I am really enjoying spending this season working on a new red and white star medallion quilt.

This quilt will be my next pattern…it’s working name is Kismet Medallion.  It’s one of those quilts that looks harder than it is – my favorite type! 🙂  I have always loved red and white quilts. For the background fabric of this one, I chose an off white from Moda Bella Solids called Porcelain. I think has an antique look to it.  For the red I’m using a scrappy mix of prints, ranging from French General to Karen Lewis.  I can’t wait to share more soon!

Oh My Golly, Miss Faith! Nothing is more beautiful that a very simple, uncluttered Ohio Star in red. Your email hitting my inbox this morning makes my day. LOVE your quilt style!
