Crazy enough for you? You may recognize some of these blocks. They were originally intended for the Mod Bento Box Swap last month using Ashley’s tutorial from Film in the Fridge. Well, between kids, company, vacation and other commitments, I really dropped the ball on that one.
But then I thought of a great way to redeem them…make a quilt top and donate it to Anna Maria Horner’s Rainbow Around the Block initiative. For those that haven’t heard, one of my *favorite* fabric designers AMH has been organizing a way for people around the globe to help those that lost everything in the middle Tennessee floods last May. She has been collecting quilt blocks and having a team assemble them into quilts to donate to those in need. It’s a tangible way to help and you can find more information here at the Flickr group or here on her website.
So my modified bento box quilt box received some new life. I only hope that the recipient really likes crazy quilts!
The final deadline is September 1st, so it’s not too late to donate a quilt block…or 10…or even a quilt top to this great cause.
