Solstice Stars Series

Join me January 18 – February 15!

Fabric Requirements: I estimate that each 12.5 inch (unfinished) quilt block will take the equivalent of a fat quarter to make.

Quilting Basics: There are many helpful online tutorials for beginning quilters–Elizabeth Hartman of Oh Fransson! has a great series here: Quilt Making Basics.

Advanced Techniques: We will be doing some paper piecing and most likely some y-seams. I will provide instructions in the tutorials, but if you’d like to get a jump start on learning these new skills, you can find tutorials on my blog here (paper piecing) and here (y-seams).

Fresh Lemons Quilts Flickr Group: I’d love to see your fabric selections, process shots, and answer any questions through the Fresh Lemons Quilts Flickr group.

  • Sewing something pretty on this snowy Friday. ❄️❄️❄️
  • We had the best weather in years last night for Halloween. My daughter and her friends love Hamilton, so we made a bit of a modernized version of the Schuyler sisters outfits. Avery was “& Peggy”! #hamilton #halloween #costume #schuylersisters #hamilkids #hamilkid #cricut
  • Sneaking in a bit of sewing time before the Halloween craziness this afternoon. #quilting #accuquilt #accuquiltgo #tulapink #quiltblock
  • I am completely in love with this new HST Block of the Month quilt pattern, launching today over at Freshly Pieced! @lee.a.heinrich has such an amazing eye for color and design. Hop on over to her feed for all the details on joining in for 2019. ❤️ #QuiltAlong #moderntraditional
  • Very much in love with my birthday present from my husband (and proof he sometimes listens to things I say I like 🤣)...artwork by @lauragunnart !!! ❤️❤️❤️
  • I always think of @amybutlerdesign when I think about my start to quilting. I discovered her fabric and her book, In Stitches, and 9 years ago I made this quilt. My *first* quilt *just for me*! I couldn’t believe I had done it! And it didn’t look terrible! 🤣 @craftindustryalliance has organized a tribute to Amy today, as she moves on from the quilting industry. #thanksamybutler for being an inspiration!
  • I think it is *just* about time to break out my Halloween quilt, using Nightshade fabric by @tulapink and @oakshottfabrics cottons. This quilt was made using my Prism quilt pattern. #halloween #quilt #modernquilt #halloweenquilt
  • ❤️ Now to make about 20-something more.
