Oh Happy Joy!

1 Bernina Boxes

It finally came (yesterday)! My Bernina Aurora 440QEE! Say hello to the nicest thing in my house now. LOL What can I say? It’s awesome. No more machine moving across the table while I sew, no more extra stitches after I take my foot off the pedal. No more wonky seam allowances.

At first I was a bit worried about the learning curve. I couldn’t even figure out how to put the accessories in the accessory box! But the manual is great. I even did some test embroidery. I am able to take 5 classes through my Bernina dealer and have already signed up for the first class on my machine and the first embroidery class.

So, I thought I would share the photos I took while opening the boxes and getting set up! Enjoy!

Oh…the fun you are going to have!! I have the exact same Bernina (her name is Nina, not very creative, but it fits) and I can’t even express how much I love her. Every time I sit down to sew I whisper a “thank you” for having her. I haven’t gotten the embroidery module yet, but it is on my Christmas list!! If you haven’t already, I would recommend that you order the large glass extension table….it makes such a huge difference when you are quilting.

I purchased this machine back in February and Love Love Love it! I still have yet to try the embroidery module though. Did you find it easy to use the embroidery part? My dh also just bought me the Bernina quilting frame to use with my machine. NO MORE PINS!!!!! I love it! Enjoy your machine!

I’ve found the embroidery part to be really easy to learn. I took the intro class at my dealer and learned about the different kinds of stabilizer, how to hoop properly, good embroidery thread (ISACORD)… So jealous of your quilt frame! I bet it’s wonderful! My fingers always hurt for a week after pinning. One thing at a time though I guess. 🙂

I remembered seeing you post about the new tool you just received recently, so I checked your tags to see if you had posted about your machine at all. Lucky for me, it was very recent. I am considering getting a Bernina machine. I want a new machine since the one I currently use was my grandmother’s. I know good machines are expensive and went to one of my local quilt shops to check out pricing, etc. I really, really, really want the model that you have but I’m just not sure I can justify the expense since I have yet to date done that much sewing. My husband is having a heart attack at the pricing. I appreciated reading the other comments, too, especially since so many people seem to love their Bernina machine.

Sally – I was *SUPER* lucky to get 4 years, no interest financing. They do different specials all the time, so you should keep an eye out. But yeah, if I didn’t use it for my hair clip business as well, my husband would have NEVER agreed to it. It is a small fortune, but oh, I just love it and use it every single day.
