  • Dec 5, 2011

It is now December and we are in full Christmas mode at my house. Is everyone working on gifts for the holidays? If you are looking for the just the right fabric for your next project (or handmade gift), you are in luck today. Moona Fabrics has generously offered to give away this beautiful Fat Quarter bundle.

The fabric is the Vogue Blue palette from the Modernology collection by Art Gallery. They added in a few Pure Elements solids as well, aren’t they just beautiful? You know I can go on and on about how wonderful these Art Gallery fabrics feel!

In addition to the fabric giveaway, Moona Fabrics is also offering a 10% off coupon through Thursday, using coupon code FRESHLEMONS. So nice!

All you need to do to enter the giveaway is leave a comment. I’d love to hear what everyone is working on this holiday season. I will pick a winner Thursday evening (December 8th). Good luck!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Wow, most of you have a LOT going on right now! I’m impressed! (And kind of feeling like a slacker too!)

I’m closing the comments and will be right back with a winner.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The winner is number 211, right smack in the middle. WandaFish said “I love the feel of Art Gallery fabrics and these look absolutely delicious – thanks for the giveaway! I’ve got a couple more Christmas stockings to make, dolls house curtains, little girl dresses and a baby blanket on the top of my ‘to do’ list I think I’m going to run out of time!”

Congratulations and good luck to everyone with finishing their holiday sewing!

What a gorgeous array of colours! I’m bust finishing my Christmas block of the month that I’ve been doing since January! I’ve done some of the quilting so my plan now is to get the binding on and then finish the rest of the quilting. That way it can be up for Christmas finished or not!

I am overwhelmed by projects right now. I have plenty of pouches and bags to do as gifts to my friends and family and have to finish the placemates for my blog readers. Not talking about Advent calendar and Christmas decorations.

Gorgeous. Today I’ll finish up my shopping for the Christmas Bag/stockings. This year I’m making bags to put all the goodies in, the stockings just aren’t big enough. 🙂 For the little ones I’m making growth charts, one grandson is getting a quilt made with Oklahoma State Fabric and bandanas, the backing will be horses (I’ll have to check to see who made it, I just buy fabric I like), granddaughter will get some type of princess themed quilt, and a denim/flannel rag quilt for the older grandson. The other three grandkids don’t get quilts, their mom has asked me to quit making quilts for them. Bother. I had to BUY them something, but it’s done. ~Nita

    Hello,
I’m new to all this and began quilting just a couple of months ago. I’m really loving it, but struggling to put colours and patterns together, it doesn’t come easily to me, but hopefully in time it will. I spent hours looking at all the quilts on the internet until I came to your website which is really fresh & bright as I love bright colours, thanks for all the ideas.

Those are beautiful fabrics! I’m working on a baby quilt and then I’m going to be starting on a quilt for me. (I always make quilts for other people, so I decided for my 30th birthday next year I would make a quilt for myself.) I always have lots of plans for Christmas sewing, but never quite get them made.

  74. Flaun

    December 5, 2011

Of course, I’m working on too many things, but on the machine right now is a quilt I gave to my sweetie for Christmas last year – at least the top. I’ve created a back and am trying to finish the quilting on it so I can give it to him two years in a row! It’s big enough for our bed and (don’t ask me why) I picked a fairly dense style of quilting, so I may be pushing my luck, but I’m trying!

Oh, my gosh – That collection would be perfect for a new quilt for my 5-yr-old neice (which she keeps reminding me she needs, btw).
My only remaining Christmas project is a Christmas quilt for my brother and sister-in-law, and it’s pieced, based, and two-thirds quilted. Somehow, though, I’m sure I’ll be stitching down the binding around noon on Christmas Eve :).

    December 5, 2011

Love this line, but then I am a fan of Pat Bravo anyway. Just finished a Christmas wallhanging yesterday so not sure what I will do next. So many choices!!

  223. SHIRLEY B

    December 5, 2011

Ooh, what a fabulous treat – I love, love, love Art Gallry fabrics – such beautiful colours and gorgeous cotton! I’m hoping to finish off my sampler quilt over the Christmas holidays, and a quilt I’ve been working on for my daughter since (cough) February!! Ooh, and I so need to start a new quilt with some lovely modernology fabric :o)) Fingers crossed xx

  231. Donna

    December 5, 2011

I love the cool feeling of the chosen materials. The hardest part of quilting is in choosing the color scheme. Currently working on two smaller size quilts for my grand-daughters. A welcome relief after finishing a queen-sized one for my sister. My next quilt might be able to fulfill a dream of mine…I would love to do a free flow one, though I’m not sure I have to the courage.

  232. Veronica

    December 5, 2011

I’ve been making purses, place mats, and now an outfit for my daughter! I’d love to try out some of these beautiful fabrics.

These fabrics are so beautiful…right up my alley! I’m not doing any handmade gifts this year, but I am trying to get up the motivation to finish binding my first big quilt. I’m soooo close, but I’ve kind of stalled.

  237. Stacy Albright

    December 5, 2011

Oh those colors remind me of spring! I’m making a christmas tree skirt right now, and other christmas gifts, after that is all done, off to my purse making!

    December 5, 2011

Such beautiful fabrics!!! Love those colors! 🙂 One lucky someone is going to be thrilled! 🙂 Right now, I’ve got several quilting projects that I’m working– a couple of Block-of-the-Months that I got behind on and am trying to play catch up before Christmas, and a new mystery that was just too tempting — had to join! Also, I’ve bought some beautiful blue fleece that I plan to make into a hooded robe for my daughter to wear on those cold Winter nights. 🙂 Thank you so much for this giveaway! 🙂

I’m working on NOTHING this holiday season. Nothing. My sewing room is under construction, and though I have my machine set up in a “satellite” location, I’m just not feeling it. So there will be no handmade gifts this year, and I’m sure my family will rejoice and revel in their boughten items. But I can use this fabric in January!!! Thanks!

  244. Dorothy

    December 5, 2011

These fabrics are so pretty and I especially think the blues would be a good choice for the Herbal Dream Pillows I’ve been making. Thank you Moona Fabrics for the generous giveaway! It sure gives us all a boost of encouragement to think…just maybe….we might win!!

    December 5, 2011

Beautiful fabrics Faith! I am NOT making any quilty gifts this year. I stress about it too much so I am sewing for myself. I think I am going to start my gifts the first of next year so I don’t have to think about them when the holidays come. I just need to add some “destress” to the holiday season.

  249. Ashley

    December 5, 2011

Hmmm… working on finishing the adoptions of two little kiddos that came home to us in April, hoping to quilt the Christmas flimsy I made last year, quilting a t-shirt flimsy for a friend’s daughter, and looking forward to our oldest coming home from college!

  250. Bronwyn

    December 5, 2011

Absolutly love Pat Bravos designs and Moona is such an excellent store. What a fantastic prize for someone! I’m stuck flat on my back at the moment after falling down stairs. Getting better but no where near to sitting at my machine. I’m afraid no chrissie sewings happening this year but I can still dream of deliciousness such as pats fabric!!!

  251. Jill@northstarquilting

    December 5, 2011

I’m working on my daughter’s 13th birthday gift right now. We made a pink/brown/white quilt together. It’s been machine quilted and now I’m waiting to bind it. I want to give her the quilt first and have her make the final decision on what the binding should look like. I know she will love it! My baby is growing up too fast.

Time will tell how much gets done! I love these fabrics and love following along…I know I wouldn’t be so eager to do any sewing if I wasn’t so motivated by these blogs and all the pretty fabrics!

As usual, I have way too many presents to sew that are not yet complete: an apron, three tutus, three princess wallhangings, a tote bag, three quilts, a voile scarf, two skirts and bird ornaments for the teachers. I could really use some new fabric! Thank you and Merry Christmas.

I am currently working on a secretly Christmas-y quilt for my fiance using Cosmo Cricket’s 1934. He’s Jewish so we don’t do a lot for Christmas but I like to do some subtle decorating. I’m also working on some jackets and hats for family.

I just joined and am loving the tips and color combinations of fabrics on this site. I just finished a quilt top of pieced butterflies for my niece that is due in feb and made two more at the same time for Project Linus. I recently inherited a bunch of fabric from my mother who passed in Sept, and I decided to make quilts to donate to kids with her fabric. I love the fat quarter bundle and I think it would make some beautiful quilts!

I am making a fabric doll carrier for my husband’s niece, and hopefully will get a few quiet books done for my boys, or doodle pads. They are two years old though, so if I have to wait until their birthday, at least I don’t feel overwhelmed to get them done. I would also like to make Christmas placemats for the house. A full plate, that’s for sure!

  367. Lindsey

    December 6, 2011

I absolutely LOVE Art Gallery fabrics and Pat Bravo designs. They’re the first fabrics I ever worked with on my very first quilt and it wasn’t until later that I learned to truly appreciate the fine quality of the fabrics.

I’ve given up on quilts as Christmas gifts this year. Time is a little tight. Instead I’ve been whipping up lined drawstring bags to stuff with goodies.

  375. Ginny

    December 6, 2011

I haven’t worked with Art Gallery fabrics before, but trust your recommendation on the feel. The colors and designs look like a promise of an island vacation or Springtime around the corner and we have all of winter to face yet!

I’ve modified a tote bag pattern to just fit a purchased bag of cookies. The combo makes a dandy little gift and I’m tickled to see the tote filled with dried flowers or greens as a decorative element in successive years.

Just being introduced to these fabrics is a gift!

  376. Christine

    December 6, 2011
