Meet the Vintage Quilt Revival Quilts: Rosy Windows Quilt

Rosy Windows Quilts, pattern from Vintage Quilt Revival : Fresh Lemons Quilts

I’m back today to share another quilt from Vintage Quilt Revival, the Rosy Windows Quilt. When I was designing projects for the book, I spent a lot of time thinking about inspiration. I kept coming back to the 2011 Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts exhibit at the American Folk Art Museum in New York City. I really, really loved the red and white quilts.

I decided to take that idea and put my own spin on it. Inspired by the red and white, I designed this quilt using two shades of “red” – or my idea of “red”. I then incorporated little punches of additional color at the center of each block. It ended up being one of my favorites.

This block is also *not* paper pieced (probably some of you are cheering)! So this is a great project for beginners.

I hope those of you that preordered the book on Amazon have noticed that it is now “In Stock” in the US and Canada! I have received several messages from those of you that preordered (and regular ordered) that shipping notices have started going out. So that is maybe a little Christmas miracle. 😉

Katie, Lee and I are going to take next week off from sharing book quilts and will be back following Christmas with the last few projects! I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing everything so far. I am keeping a Pinterest board with all the project posts in one place if you’d like to see them all together.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone and thank you so much for your support over the last year. It means so much to me!

I went to the Infinite Variety Quilt show as well. It was amazing. It inspired me to start my own red & white quilt too. I wish there were more shows like that.

I LOVE THIS ONE!!! My mom made a red and white quilt about 25 years ago, hand-pieced and hand-quilted, that my oldest daughter now owns. I’m so glad that I pre-ordered your book! Merry Christmas to me!

I just received mine from Amazon yesterday and cannot wait to delve in. I have it sitting on my sewing desk encouraging me to finish up the commission I’m working on. Once all the blocks have been completed, my reward is to sit and go through the book. Am so excited!!

I received this book for Christmas. I love the projects. I am having a problem with the CD, it only opens the first page. The size of the file suggests that the whole document is there, but it doesn’t open. If anyone has any suggestions, let me kno.
