Holiday Seasons and Looking Ahead

Holiday Quilt Along

Yes, that is Christmas fabric. I know, Thanksgiving first, right? But I also know that we need to get started now if we want to enjoy our holiday decor during the actual holiday season.

Case in point…I did not finish my Halloween cross stitch in time this year. But there is always 2017!

Holiday Quilt Along

The holiday fabric – Good Cheer in Coal from Juniper Berry by Basic Gray for Moda Fabrics – and Kona solid swatches at the top are part of a project I’ve been finalizing over the last week. Starting Monday, I will be hosting a month long holiday quilt along over at BERNINA’s We All Sew. It’s not a quilt, but a quilted table runner with four awesome, modern, holiday block patterns. (And hey, there is nothing stopping you from using those blocks in a quilt!) I’m so very excited to share! Until then…I’ll be at my machine and computer if you need me. 🙂

Hi Hope, I don’t sell fabric but definitely check your local quilt shop or favorite online fabric store.

Love that cat. Looking forward to the table runner, if I can squeeze it in.
    Is there any paper piecing?

Question – where do i find swatches like the ones you have in the photo, that aren’t solids, necessarily? Thanks, Faith.

Hi Anne! Yes, there is paper piecing. But they are good candidates for piecing as templates if that works better for you. 🙂

The swatches I have are just a cut up Kona Color Card. 🙂

Love those pops of color against the black.

A quilt along!! Did you make the “hoop” for your cute/scary kitty out of plastic pipe–or is this a thing?

It’s a thing! It’s called a Q-Snap Frame. They come in a couple sizes, but I use the 11″ one – Amazon link.
