Heading to Wisconsin

Stardust Quilt from Vintage Quilt Revival : Fresh Lemons Quilts

Today I’m spending the day getting ready to head to Wisconsin for the Menu of Modern event. I’m so excited, we are really going to have a good time. Hopefully many of you are also staying for Jacquie’s class Sunday. I really can’t wait!

I have a few little notes to share with you today. I’ve been busy working on a wall hanging quilt for my aunt. I’ve paired Carolyn Friedlander’s Botanics line with Lee’s Stardust pattern from Vintage Quilt Revival. I’m only doing 9 blocks for the wall hanging but I am seriously considering making a full sized one of these for myself.

I also wanted to mention that I am now offering one of my patterns in print (for the first time). If you’ve checked out my pattern shop, you’ve probably noticed my quilt patterns are digital PDF downloads. I really love that instant availability. But I know many people like printed patterns, so I wanted to branch out in that direction as well.

So far I only have one pattern printed – my Starfall pattern. But I do plan on printing up others as the year progresses, in order of their popularity. The patterns are full color booklets and ship (USA only right now) USPS First Class Mail.

If you are a shop owner and are interested in carrying this pattern in your store, please email me regarding wholesale orders.

And finally, I was excited to find out that Fat Quarter Shop has named Vintage Quilt Revival their Book of the Month. You can read more about it on their blog, but also it’s great because it means the book is 20% off in their shop all month long!

Have a great weekend everyone! I’ll be back next week with pictures from the weekend event!

I love pdf patterns, but they tend to be black and whit and I prefer colors, glad you are printing in color.

Hi Mabel! I’m not sure if there is a general listing of events by state anywhere…..but as far as my own events, you can find them listed by clicking on the “Find Me” tab at the top of my blog.

I love how you have your quilt pattern layed out and have drawn the illustrations. If I may ask, what program(s) do you use for your patterns and do you do the layout yourself or have someone design it for you?

    Thanks so much!

Thanks Cheryl! I use Photoshop to create my diagrams and Adobe In Design to create my pattern layouts. I have many years of Photoshop experience but was new to In Design, so I’ve been using tutorials on the Adobe website to get started.
