Hanna Hearts Quilt

I thought I’d share just a few photos of my Hanna Hearts quilt progress while I am away at QuiltCon. It’s so cute! My 8 year old assures me.

(And totally unrelated to this quilt…if you’d like to see real time updates from QuiltCon today and tomorrow, be sure to follow me on Instagram!)

I am planning on adding some white sashing between everything. Probably either 1-1/2″ or 2″ wide. I mentioned in my last post that I used Allison of Cluck, Cluck, Sew’s Simple Heart Tutorial. These are the 4″ hearts. I just love them!

I’m going to back this one with minky so it’s nice and soft for the recipient!

Love this! Hearts are my favorite thing to collect. I just found a beautiful, very smooth red heart (I believe it is some kind of stone) handmade in Kenya. I collect anything in the shape of a heart. I bought an antique quilt that is full of color, but has many cigarette burns, so I am cutting it up and making hearts out of part of it while using the good part for a lap quilt. 🙂

Maeve, my comment was going to be much like yours! Hearts are my favorite shape, and I collect heart shaped stones.
Love these heart blocks. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Your heart blocks are adorable, Faith — the eight-year-old is right! 🙂 Minky is going to be fantastic with this quilt. I have a quilt top ready for basting that is destined for Minky backing as well… So now I’m going to dig around in your blog archives because I am SURE you probably wrote a good post about best practices with Minky. Have fun at QuiltCon!
