A Stitch in Color ~ A Moona Fabrics Sponsored Giveaway

  • Faith
  • Jan 16, 2012

Many of you know that fabric designer and author Malka Dubrawsky created her first fabric collection, A Stitch in Color for Moda Fabrics. Last month I created a quilt using fabric from a tiny sample fabric pack. I’m a huge Malka fan and have been eagerly anticipating yardage to start shipping.

Well, I’m excited to write that the moment has come and her fabric line is now appearing in stores! Moona Fabrics has ordered the collection and they are generously here today to give away a pre-release fat quarter set of all the fabrics you see in the above photo!

All you need to do to enter is leave a comment. I’d love to hear what you’d plan to do with the fat quarter set. I will pick a winner Thursday evening, January 19th. Good lucky everyone!

Our winner is comment #426!

Michelle G said “I would love that bundle of fabric. I confess I would probably horde it for the first year. That means I would hang on to it and bring it out (often) and pet it and contemplate the best way of using it. Then I would suddenly decide to stash bust and create a quilt with it.”

Congratulations Michelle! I will be emailing you for your address. Thank you to everyone for your comments!

Swoon! I love, love, love the colors!

I am still a rookie quilter but I am making one for my Mom who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers. I was thinking the brighter the fabric the better. These fabrics would be a beautiful addition to the fabrics I have already selected.

What a generous giveaway! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win … =D

For two years, now, I have been collecting perfectly inspired fabrics for a Halloween quilt. I am committed to Gray neutrals with subtle pops of color. Typical spooky fabrics are way too cartoonish for my vision. Some of the unusual Alexander Henry prints are my foundation fabrics – the anchor. These Malka prints are a perfect complement to the stash I have waiting to complete. If I should be gifted with this assortment you will see the fabric come to life in a very modern interpretation of Haloween.

Oh, I am madly saving for this line and would so love to win! I am taking a block of the month class online and would definitely use this to make a lap quilt for our home. I’ve also thought that it might be fun to use in an I Spy quilt to complement the bright colors in the children’s fabrics I’m using. I’m also thinking of getting some yardage when I can to make curtains for the kitchen window and then, placemats would be great too. Thank you for the opportunity.

  130. Stephanie

My best friend is having a baby this summer and I want to make her a baby blanket, but she is not telling the gender. Those fabrics are so whimsical and bright that I don’t think it will matter if the baby is a boy or a girl.

    January 17, 2012

I absolutely cannot wait to get this fabric!

  424. Terri Zebrak

    January 17, 2012

Absolutely beautiful! That fabric inspires me to create a quilt that includes appliques of safari animals in each block. My sister and I designed a quilt together (which she sewed) that embodied the animals and layout of the Central Park Zoo in Manhattan. She donated it to a quilt auction where the proceeds went to a local food bank. I’m a beginner in quilting and would love to give it a go.

This is completely off topic, but you must know, I’m a huge fan of your designs. Am I kissing up…possibly, but I think you’re awesome. I am currently using your free “Lemon Squares” pattern to make my sister a quilt using the kokka fabrics echino ni-co spring 2011 fabric line. I’ll post a picture on your website when I finish. Thanks for the inspiration!

  425. Elizabeth McDonald
