A Slow December

Sugarplum Medallion Quilt Progress

Well, as usual, my December project progress is slow going. I did sit down at the machine over the last few days though, and paper pieced 48 components for my Sugarplum Medallion quilt. I’ve only trimmed four though! 🙂

You can find the link to this free block pattern here. I chain pieced all my sections, so it didn’t take too long. I find that once I’m in the groove, I don’t have to think too hard about the angles associated with paper piecing.

It was two steps forward and one step back on my National Parks cross stitch project. I ripped out the very bottom stitches because I also miscounted them by 1. But I finished the third national park (Denali) at the top and think it turned out quite cute!

Other than that, I’ve been getting ready for the holidays. My parents came to visit last weekend and we enjoyed the Christkindlmarket.

It is definitely looking like Christmas here, and with more snow in the forecast, I don’t think that is going to change! I hope everyone is staying warm (or cool…I’m looking at you Australia!) in your corner of the world, and enjoying this holiday season.

Your colors and fabric placement is always flawless! I see you have a Bernina. My 1530 may be biting the dust – the tracker ball is not working (boo). What model do you have? Do you like it?

    Happy Holidays!

Hi Dawn – I have 2 BERNINA’s. The first is a 440QEE (I bought this one about 6 years ago and it is awesome! They don’t make it anymore though – but sometimes you can find one at a dealer that has been traded in). My other one is on loan from BERNINA (I’m an ambassador for them). It’s a 770QE and it’s great. I love the big harp space and dual feed. Definitely check your local dealer out and give some a test drive. I also know my local dealer is having specials right now, yours might be too!

Love the way your cross-stitch turned out. Once again, just like blogging, you inspired me to try something new. Happy Holidays to you and
    your family!!
