Cherry Pie and a Picnic for Two
I finished the Oh Cherry Oh Stacked Coin Quilt last night! I think it turned out great. If you remember, I followed the directions from the Moda Bake Shop, however I altered the pattern a bit so the quilt would be big enough for 2 people to have a picnic. I ended up using about 3-1/2 charm packs.
I decided to make the back of the quilt red so it won’t show dirt as easily when put in the grass. I stitched in the ditched along all the seams and the binding is a tiny cherry print. The final size on this one is 46″ by 65″. I hope my mother-in-law likes it!

Stacked Coin Top
I just finished the top of the Oh Cherry Oh stacked coin quilt. I think it looks pretty good! I’m hoping to finish the back tonight and sandwich it up tomorrow. This is a gift for my mother in law and I have a firm weekend deadline! I think it’s the perfect size for a picnic for two.

Coin Stacks
I’m making progress on my stacked coin quilt for my mother-in-law’s birthday. I decided to follow the pattern on the Moda Bake Shop website, but I’m enlarging it to 32 coins high and 6 columns, rather than 5. I’m hoping it will be a good size for a picnic blanket for two people. Since I changed my mind on the size after I started, I had to order more charm packs. Hopefully they get here soon so I can keep working! I need to be done by the 14th – 10 days!
This is also my participation in the 2009 Coin Quilt Piece-Along.
