Spring is in the Air
It has been so nice outside for at least 3 days straight now. The kids and I have been taking advantage of the weather by spending every moment we can outdoors. I have managed to put together a new quilt top during naptimes though. I hope to finish this week and share the full view with you then.
And it seems my flowers have also taken notice of the warmer temperatures (even though the weatherman keeps saying they are unseasonable.
I even broke out the picnic quilt today to catch some rays.
I hope it’s beautiful where you are today!

Munki Minis
Over the weekend I had a burst of creativity and everything I had been working on was pushed aside. *Months* ago I had made a couple Munki Munki blocks for fun. I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but I just really wanted to cut into that cute Heather Ross fabric. Then they sat in a little box….so sad and lonely. Then suddenly on Saturday, it hit me! Mini, modern, one-of-a-kind baby quilts!
I decided I needed to make a rainbow of them (minus purple – I really just don’t have that much purple in my stash!) I am so very excited with how they turned out.
Each one uses a bit of my Heather Ross fabrics. Some I had from trades, some I purchased from Kerri over at Sew Deerly Loved. Kerri sells bits and pieces of the Munki Munki pajamas – pure genius!
Each mini quilt measure 18″ x 21″. The backs coordinate with a fabric used on the front in the block and the binding also matches the backings. I quilted them in modern, “random” (I marked them before quilting) straight lines. I just love how they turned out!
I am planning on listing these in my shop sometime today. I hope Etsy fans will love them as much as I do – I see a lot more in my future!

Munki Munki Blocks
Today I decided to begin work on my Munki Munki blocks. After spending a lot of time collecting fabric, I found it quite hard to cut into it. Especially fussy cutting. But I really like the results. I’m thinking I will make a bunch of different sized blocks over a *long* period of time. I say that because it took the entire afternoon nap time to make these two. Nap time when I should have been….folding laundry, cleaning the kitchen, swiffering the floors, cleaning the bathrooms…all that glamourous stuff! Oh well, the dirty house will still be here tomorrow. :-P
