Who wants to go to camp? Quilt Camp! Quilt Camp is a holiday sewing retreat where you can get together with friends, relax, finish those last holiday gifts, and take classes from some of us Midwest bloggers! The retreat is scheduled December 7-9 (the 6th is an optional day).
Quilt Camp will take place at the Hankerd Inn in Pleasant Lake, Michigan. We are going to have a blast! Isn’t it cute?
I will be teaching Foundation Piecing and we will make an 18″ pillow/mini quilt (your choice!) which matches the Quilt Camp logo.
Jeni Baker of In Color Order will be teaching her awesome Drawstring Bag pattern in a variety of sizes (perfect for wrapping gifts!).
Heather Jones of Olive and Ollie will be teaching Improvisational Piecing.
Pricing includes shared lodging (see the Information Page for details on rooms), brunch and dinner each day and ALL classes. They only thing you need to bring is your fabric, sewing machine and notions. We will provide you with project supply lists before December.

I had such fun on Saturday! I spent about 5 hours with a wonderful group of ladies, demoing and talking about piecing improvisational log cabins and watching everyone’s different blocks come together.
Huge thanks to the super sweet and funny Andie (above) for coordinating this workshop and inviting me to come teach. And also a big thank you to the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild for hosting me (and showing up!) and those that traveled several hours to attend.

My mom and sister even came to join in the fun.
Lots of happy in-action photos…everyone made such amazing blocks!
And my sister will tell you – quilting is not for the faint of heart. It was 85 degrees in the room! We are all super tough troopers though and quilted through the heat.
Finally – completely unrelated but while I was in Cincinnati I found out from Jeni that Heather Ross has some fabric at Hancocks! I rushed to the store by my parents house and picked up some prints. These are from the children’s book she illustrated, Crafty Chloe. (Which my daughter happens to love!) I was so excited to see them, I am a huge sucker for any of her artwork. If you want some for yourself, be sure to check out your local Hancocks store in the Girl’s Novelty section.

Yea! The beans have been spilled and I can finally announce that I have the honor of being one of the teachers at this year’s Sewing Summit! I will be co-teaching a class on advanced techiniques with the enormously talented Kati Spencer of From the Blue Chair. The goal of two teachers in one class is to have lots more hands on help for everyone there. I can’t wait to share more about the class over the next few months, and hopefully meet many, many, many of you in Salt Lake City this October!
