2015 Snapshots Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop

A couple of months ago, Fat Quarter Shop contacted me about sharing the details about their 2015 Snapshots Quilt Along with you. This super cute quilt features fabric from the Daysail collection by Bonnie & Camille. For the quilt along, the patterns will be available for FREE download each month on the 15th on the Fat Quarter Shop blog, starting in January 2015. You can see all the blocks for the year here.

The best part about this quilt along is that it benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For every pattern downloaded, Fat Quarter Shop is encouraging a $5 donation to St. Jude to help advance cures for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Fat Quarter Shop and Moda Fabrics is planning on matching all donations up to $10,000!

You can additionally buy a quilt kit with the fabrics shown in the sample (quilt top and binding kit; quilt backing kit sold separately). These are limited though, and will ship out in February. I hope you will consider quilting along and donating to this great cause!

Are these paper-piecing or traditional pieced blocks? Thanks

Sharon, they are NOT paper pieced. I watched the intro video over on the FQS blog.

That really is a pretty quilt. I watched the video, which makes it sound like the blocks are pretty straight-forward… mostly HSTs and straight piecing. Is it really that easy? Blocks like the bicycle look rather fiddly. So, I’m on the fence about this one still.

Adorable quilt, and supporting a great cause… But I agree with others that the bicycle block looks terrifying! Are you planning to make this quilt, Faith? I think some of us could use some hand-holding, or at least one of your fabulous tutorials on the bicycle block! 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and your family!
